About the Course
The Beginner Piano Course is designed for students who are starting their piano journey or have very little previous experience. Students are introduced to the fundamentals of piano playing through structured, practical and enjoyable lessons.
The focus is on developing correct technique, music reading, rhythm, coordination and basic musical understanding while giving students the confidence to play their first songs and piano pieces.

How the Classes Work

Each lesson is conducted live with a dedicated piano teacher. The teacher adapts the lesson according to the student's age, ability, learning pace and goals.

Online Learning Setup
You can attend your piano lessons comfortably from home.
You’ll need:
- Piano or suitable keyboard
- Laptop, tablet or computer
- Stable internet connection
- Headphones (optional)
- Comfortable seating
The camera should be positioned so the teacher can clearly see the student and both hands on the keyboard.
Learning Outcomes
By completing the Beginner level, students will be able to:
- Read basic musical notation

- Play beginner-level pieces
- Apply basic dynamics and musical expression
- Practise more independently
- Build the foundation required for the Intermediate level
Assessment & Progress
Students' progress is reviewed throughout the course across areas such as technique, music reading, rhythm, coordination and repertoire.
When the student is ready, they can complete a Beginner Level Assessment to demonstrate their progress and prepare for the next stage.
Certificate & Progression
Students who successfully complete the level can receive an IndieClassroom Beginner Level Certificate.
Next Step:
Beginner → Intermediate
Students interested in formal examinations can also be guided towards a suitable Trinity or ABRSM pathway according to their ability and goals.
Class Plan

Option 1 — Standard
30-minute sessions • 2 classes per week
Option 2 — Extended
60-minute sessions • 2 classes per week
Both options include live 1:1 instruction, personalised learning, practice guidance and regular teacher feedback.
